And, in fact, there is an abundance of breathtaking Provence wedding venues. For example, historic chateaux and domaines, luxury hotels and villas, and authentic Provençal bastides. Having visited and worked at many of these magnificent properties, I’m happy to share my insights on what makes each of them so special.

It’s hard to overstate the charm of Provence. Long days filled with sunshine, warm breezes, and the chirp of cicadas, picturesque limestone villages, endless fields of lavender and sunflowers…and of course, a grand gastronomic tradition as well as a thriving local wine industry. Famous among food lovers and art aficionados, it’s also an idyllic place for destination weddings where family and friends can join you from around the world to spend a week together soaking up the atmosphere. There’s plenty to do, from wine and olive tasting to provincial markets. The region is also easily accessible by plane or train.

Château d’Estoublon

Built in the 18th century and recently renovated to world-class standard, the beautiful Château d’Estoublon still maintains its historical authenticity as well as its Provençal charm. It is set in 200 hectares of vineyards and olive trees, and both oil and wine are still produced on the estate. There are a number of ceremony and reception options both indoors and out. For example, you can choose between a garden ceremony or one in the private on-site chapel. Then dine out in the lavender fields, in a crystal tent in the grounds or an elegant wine cellar, depending on your taste and the size of your party. Château Grimaldi at Puyricard

If you’re looking for a wedding venue in Provence with a unique wow-factor, the Château Grimaldi at Puyricard may be the one. Named by Vogue as one of the most beautiful properties in the South of France, the mansion house is built among the ruins of a 16th-century château, once the seat of the Archbishops of Puyricard. You can host your ceremony amid these picturesque ruins, before enjoying drinks in the elegant gardens or in the golden light of the orchard or olive grove before dining al fresco in the charming courtyard. It’s love at first sight as you pass the forged steel gates and make your way up a Cypress-lined avenue towards the Domaine Saumane-de-Vaucluse. Nestled on a hill in the heart of the Luberon, surrounded by fragrant olive groves and lavender fields, the Domaine des Andéols serves the freshest farm-to-table cuisine. Organic fruits, herbs, and vegetables are all grown on the property. It is also a haven for lovers of art and design. A wedding at La Bastide de Gordes is truly an exceptional experience. Situated in one of the most beautiful villages in France, Godes, with its narrow cobbled streets, stone houses, and bustling marketplace, this historic 12th-century château is now a five-star hotel with full amenities. The property is set into the cliffs, with panoramic views over the spectacular Luberon valley. Couples can opt for total privatization or partial, ideal for more intimate destination weddings between 50-80 people.
