Château Vaux le Vicomte is a 17th century masterpiece designed by King Louis 14th’s principal architect Louis le Vau. This grand French château was actually the inspiration for Versailles and is one of my personal favorite wedding venues in France. It’s only an hour outside of Paris so guests can get the experience of both destinations in one visit.
With its own helipad, getting there can be part of the adventure. You can arrive by helicopter, car or carriage and make your grand wedding entrance or getaway an unforgettable one. For big events, the chateau is closed to the public offering the ultimate private castle wedding!
For ceremonies, the ideal spot is the Gardens à la française with the view of the château in the background. The famed Lenotre gardens are a highlight here. The outdoor settings for ceremonies are unparalleled (and the interior event spaces are equally as grand). Weather permitting, the Kings Crown Garden is perfect for cocktail hour followed by a reception in the Salle de Rotonde or the Oval Ballroom. With 8 fountains and 7 chimneys, we have lots of decor options to dress up the spaces and the majestic splendor of the surroundings inside makes for pure event magic.
But even the exterior façade is something to take in. Dazzle your guests with video mapping on the walls of the chateau during the evening and create another focal point for unexpected décor. A Chateau Vaux le Vicomte wedding is a perfect for a destination wedding outside of the city, this spot is truly magical!
We love the enchanting horse carriage experience at Château Vaux-le-Vicomte, offering a fairy-tale arrival to your wedding. The breathtaking fireworks over the French gardens create an unforgettable backdrop, while the lavish dessert buffets in the Salle des Buffets are truly spectacular, set against a stunning backdrop of golden pastel mosaics.
This château is open to the public by day but they WILL close the chateau to the public if you are hosting a large event.
This French château wedding venue has strict guidelines when it comes to dancing inside due to the precious artwork all around. If you have up to 170 guests, you can dance inside next to the ballroom but if your party is larger, we build a tent or structure outside and move guests into that area when it’s time. The end result is breathtaking with the facade as the backdrop lit up by thousands of candles we place throughout the gardens. Then you can end the evening with fireworks and your guests are already perfectly situated to see the show.
We often hire guides to take guests on mini cultural visits throughout the historical artwork. This makes the evening that much more memorable for all and gives everyone a little something to do during cocktails that engages them with the beautiful surroundings you’ve selected.
We are happy to help you navigate with this venue
