This 15th century Italian villa was founded with a cultural, artistic, and scientific mission to spread knowledge and promote economic growth in Como. But it’s so much more than that today – it’s a spectacular place to wed as well! The property boasts amazing views of the lake with lovely gardens and a huge oak tree under which usually guests gather around.
The garden fits 200 guests and inside, 200 for a cocktail style dinner. For a seated dinner, 100 guests could be accommodated indoors (in the event of rain) plus a ceremony and dancing, though two levels of the villa would need to be used to achieve this. But the splendor is best enjoyed outdoors, weather permitting of course. The grounds are lush with asters, hydrangeas, anemones, camphor trees, sequoias, and a centuries-old Gingko biloba. The greenhouses on property are especially romantic – making this villa perfect for a destination wedding in Lake Como.
Loud music and dancing is permitted until midnight outdoors, otherwise your guests will need to move inside.
The view is amazing since it’s perched high up, but there is a road in between the gardens and the lake. During certain dates in July and August there are cultural expositions so it is not always available for rent.
