paris-wedding-plannersDestination weddings are our specialty.

We work on weddings for couples all over the world. Since we’re based in Paris, we often produce events in our hometown for those coming into France. But I also love getting on the road and working in other places too. We’ve produced events in amazing destinations like Dubai, South America, the US and our neighbor, Italy.

Destination weddings in Italy are a dream.

The wine, the cuisine, the ancient (or modern) settings, expansive views and wonderful entertainment – I love it all. If you’re considering a destination wedding in Italy, today’s post is for you. Just take a look at a few of my favorite ways and places to wed in Italy.

provence-wedding-planning Tuscany is bigger than you think. If you’re considering Tuscany for your destination wedding in Italy, realize you’ve got a lot of ground to cover when searching for just the right venue.

Wineries, olive groves, farmland and ancient borgos are just some of the majestic settings you can wed within in Tuscany.

For a property that encompasses all of those options, consider the Ferragamo Estate known as Il Borro. The boutique hotel and private estate venues can be combined to create a small city all your own. Or, it’s perfect for an intimate event with all your guests staying together in one area on property. With horseback riding, mountain biking, fine dining, cooking classes and of course, shopping, you won’t be short of group activities when saying “I do” here.

il-borroPrefer a church wedding? How about outdoors in the ancient ruins of an abbey? This Tuscany masterpiece is the Abbey of San Galgano. It’s a place where you can host your ceremony and reception with all the romanticism of the past and views of today. This open air cathedral is so unique and special

tuscany-wedding-ancient-ruinsTuscany has so many wonderful choices that I could go on and on. Villa Cetinale is another favorite of mine. The property has beautifully manicured gardens, an estate worth staying in and gorgeous artwork at every turn of the interior.

Our last stop in Tuscany is Villa Palmieri. Just 20 minutes from the Duomo in Florence, this estate is simply stunning. Set alongside the water with stunning lake views, the property boasts a regal gated entrance lined by cypress trees. Take 450 of your closest friends and family with you and don’t worry about dancing late! There are so many options when you take over this villa. You can celebrate for days here. This hidden secret spot won’t be secret for long – it’s too spectacular!

If you’re considering heading off to Venice, to wed around the water, you’re in luck, I’ve got favorites there too!

You may find a wedding home in one of few 7-star luxury properties in the world. Aman Canal Grande is among the best in the world. Visiting here is not for the everyday traveler (and that’s okay!). If you like something all your own, it’s a fantastic place to buyout. Takeover over the property and you will arrive to your destination wedding by boat. Set inside 16th-century Papadopoli palazzo, it’s exclusive beyond measure.

Another way to wed in Venice is in a historic palazzo on the water (without hotel rooms). One of the most enchanting is Palazzo Pisani, a three-story masterpiece in itself! With several unique event spaces you can host a progressive party and work your way to the third floor for the finale reception.

For big city lovers, consider your event setting in Rome. Say “I do” at the iconic Hotel Hassler, just atop the Spanish Steps. This is truly a wedding in the heart of it all. Not your style? Head high above the lights to one of Rome’s famous hilltops. Wed at the sprawling Rome Cavalieri Hotel (complete with over a thousand pieces of art to enjoy).

Getting married at the Palazzo Colonna with rooms grand enough for a royal family, this backdrop won’t disappoint. If you would like to dance, you will need to rent la Galeria Cardinale which is right next to this amazing room where you can dance until 2AM in the morning.

No matter your choice in Rome, you’ll be greeting with exceptional service, a city chic atmosphere and the beautiful bright lights of the romantic city to set the mood for your reception.

Villa Miani has the most jaw dropping views of Rome and is only 20 minutes from the center of Rome, its neoclassical style facade is wonderful for photos and its gardens allow for an amazing cocktail or dinner al Fresco. For those of you who like to dance Villa Miani allows dancing till 5 am which is very rare in Rome!

I recommend staying a few days in the city before heading out of town for your beach holiday and destination wedding by the sea.

Italy has so much to offer destination wedding groups.

And we’re not done yet! If you’re off to Positano, check out Villa Treville for an intimate event or pop over to Capri for an island escape-style destination wedding in Italy. Also along the Amalfi Coast is Hotel Villa Cimbrone. For destination weddings in Italy that your guests will remember for a lifetime, stay and wed here. A 12th century residence turned luxury hotel, it boasts some of the finest views in the region, right under the canopy of the old world structures. A reception here is incredibly romantic and a celebration includes service unlike most other places on the planet.

Lake Como, which is 45 minutes from Milan, is a magical place of extreme elegance with breathtaking views of the lake, a great favourite of photographers!

The historic Villa D’Este is a sight to see (and tie the knot at). But if you prefer something a bit more modern, check out the newly opened Il Sereno on the water and don’t skip a site visit at their sister property, Villa Pliniana for a completely different wedding vibe.

Also in Como is Villa Erba, a 19th-century property along the lakeside. With grand double staircases perfectly suited for portraits, floral dressing and a seriously special grand entrance, it’s a designers dream. The views of the waterfront are breathtaking, as are the ceremonies perched right on it. This property is perfect for a destination wedding in Italy. Italian frescos and lavish ballrooms fill this villa, giving you idyllic backdrops for your wedding day.

Too many choices? Not to worry! We love producing destination weddings in Italy. We welcome the opportunity to narrow down and location scout with or for you. Give us a ring in Paris and we’ll meet you in Italy! Ciao!
