As the year comes to an end and a new one begins, I wanted to pause for a moment and reflect on some of the fun and celebration we’ve had this past season. What a year it’s been! It’s with great pleasure and honor that my team and I have been able to produce events for clients and couples that we admire and respect, whose love for each other runs deep and whose imagination has run wild with us! While I can’t show you all of our parties and weddings from the year (due to privacy requests from our clients), I do want to share a few photos from some of our favorite events that we can share. We’ve got some of the best of 2018 on the blog today, all designed and produced by my team and I here at Alejandra Poupel Events.
The first up is a sneak peek at a greenhouse wedding reception we created in Normandy, France. This glass “tent” took days and days to build and fill with lush florals and greenery. The end result was bright and cheerful by day and romantic and elegant at night.
One of my favorite ways to add drama to a space is through lighting. This greenhouse glass tent is the perfect example of how lighting with a bit of color can dramatically elevate an event experience.
Next up is a very special wedding at Opera Garnier in Paris. This is one of my favorite properties. Though it’s unusual for a wedding to be allowed here so we had to get creative. The grand staircase is a true masterpiece and while it needs nothing more, we still like to dress it up. Our team and I dripped giant floral installations from several floors of the space. By doing that, we created a waterfall effect that was the ultimate wow moment.
Too add to the drama, we designed a show program right on the staircase. Since entertainment isn’t just about music, we opted to bring in ballerinas to perform in a setting befitting their style.
This next wedding was the perfect example of that. We produced this destination wedding in France for a US-based couple who touched down from San Fransisco. Just a select group of their friends and family were in attendance to witness their intimate nuptials. And what a special and spectacular night it was!
Dinner was set on one long table in front of the stunning estate. We matched the shades of blush from the building to the table setting and lighting to flow through the event as though it was always meant to be there. Drama of tall crystal candelabras paired with lush florals beneath lined the center of the table and plush, tufted-chairs were set to keep the guests relaxed during dinner. We achieved an indoor-outdoor residential feeling to make everyone feel welcome and at home throughout the evening.
With grounds as gorgeous as these, I chose to mix the entertainment into the background setting. We staged violinists (in blush pink attire) on ponds as though they were floating on water surrounded by lanterns and light. This was one of my favorite moments from the event!
And last but not least is an elegant Lebanese wedding we produced in Paris for a family who wanted to celebrate in high city style.
We created floral arches that hung above the tables throughout the ballroom in lush fall colors. Then, as a statement piece, we commissioned an art installation out of flowers, that seemed to pour from the wall and bust. This room was dripping with fresh florals! The formal ballroom wedding was softened with these details, something that was important to us in the design.
Thank you to all our wonderful clients of 2018! We had a fantastic time celebrating with you! It is with great honor that we’ve been able to be a part of your lives. We look forward to celebrating even more in the new year! Wishing everyone a very happy holiday season filled with much love and joy together. Cheers to next year!
