A Garden Party Worthy of Marie Antoinette at the Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte

​​As the ceremony came to a close, guests drifted into the gardens of Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte for a cocktail hour filled with charm and quiet extravagance, thoughtfully brought to life by the talented team at NuArt.

Drawing inspiration from Bridgerton and the lavish spirit of Marie Antoinette — but interpreted through a fresh, modern lens — the grounds were transformed into an elegant fête champêtre. A trellis-lined wall wrapped in toile de Jouy, custom parasols, and a beautifully crafted bar set the scene. Musicians relaxed on French garden chairs as performers in period-inspired attire mingled naturally with guests, posing for photographs, in-character of course!

Though the historic fountains were not running, we saw it as an opportunity. Partnering with AquaticShow, we introduced choreographed water features that shimmered and danced, bringing movement and light back into the gardens.

Champagne flowed. Guests lingered. The fountains shimmered in the afternoon light. It was a garden celebration full of movement, style, and just the right touch of fantasy.

Around the gardens, moments of theatre unfolded in the most unexpected ways. Elegant performers perched upon gilded chairs set against the toile backdrop, fanning themselves, as if lifted from the pages of an 18th-century painting. Their pastel gowns and towering powdered wigs added a sense of playful spectacle, while remaining perfectly at home within the grandeur of the château’s grounds.

Elsewhere, costumed figures wandered the pathways and terraces, creating delightful interactions that blurred the line between performance and celebration. Guests paused for photographs, laughter, and conversation, never quite sure where the next enchanting vignette might appear.

The entire scene felt alive with color, texture, and imagination a living tableau inspired by history, yet unmistakably modern. With every detail thoughtfully curated, the garden cocktail hour became more than a transition between moments of the day. It was an experience in itself: whimsical, immersive, and undeniably unforgettable.
