This exquisite destination wedding at one of my favorite Parisian venues has such a special story as to how the location was chosen. The bride first visited the Musée Rodin with her mother when she was just a girl. She was entranced by the former Hôtel Biron, now one of Paris’ must-see landmarks, and asked if she could return to marry there one day. She never forgot that childhood dream. Several years later, when she met the love of her life, they made it happen in the most enchanting way possible. It was such a pleasure and a privilege for me to help make that cherished dream come true! Their sumptuous, elegant wedding at the Musée Rodin in Paris brought together so many of the things I love most about the city: art, couture, music, laughter, and of course, love.

Not only does Musée Rodin showcase an incredible collection of art, it also features Versailles-style formal gardens, punctuated by the famed Rodin sculpture collection. We decided to use all the different spaces offered by the museum so that guests could get the full experience. The journey started the night before with a welcome dinner on a yacht. On the day, guests arrived to a private tour of the museum’s collection before an outdoor ceremony and a cocktail reception in the Rose Garden (with ‘The Thinker’ looking on). The evening reception that followed was also held ‘en plein air’, with Paris providing the ultimate romantic backdrop to this destination wedding celebration.

The bride looked undeniably breathtaking in her couture Emilio Ricci gown. accented by pearls. She styled it with diamond and pearl jewelry, simple white Manolo Blahnik heels, and a chic chignon. She carried a white orchid bouquet as the perfect finishing touch. New York sophistication meets Parisian elegance. The groom looked just as stylish in his classic black tuxedo. What a gorgeous couple they made!

The palette was white and periwinkle blue and we constructed a chuppah absolutely dripping in orchids, sweet peas, and hydrangeas. The bride made her way down the aisle to the melodious sounds of a string quartet (dressed in dreamy periwinkle gowns). With the Parisian skyline as a backdrop and their guests looking on approvingly, they said their “I do”s. Butterflies were released from hat boxes once they were declared man and wife, a symbol of their new lives together. Afterward, as I mentioned, they were able to enjoy cocktails and canapes in the Rose Garden, enjoying the sight of Rodin’s sculptures (and a few ‘human sculptures’ too!). Guests were served signature drinks and had the opportunity to be captured by a fashion illustrator – a very special memento of a wedding in the couture capital.

The evening reception was held under trellises of pastel blooms, with thousands of candles lighting the night. The floral theme was picked up again on the plates and napkins, creating a beautiful secret garden feeling here in the heart of the city. The magnificent pink floral cake was a visual highlight (and it tasted delicious too!). The live band kept everyone dancing long into the night. As a final surprise, fireworks lit up the sky while everyone stood back to watch them in awe.

I’ll always have such wonderful memories of this wedding at the Musée Rodin in Paris, and of the special couple whose dream we made come true!
