Le Petit Palais

Hosting a party at a historical monument is no easy task; won’t even allow for weddings. I have had the rare pleasure of producing galas, receptions, parties and weddings at some of these ultra special spaces that publically, aren’t available for events. One of my favorites is Petit Palais, a property not known for weddings but a place so special for a reception, it’s a must see.

Petit Palais is a museum that hold the best French art and an array of beautiful furniture (ideal for event décor in the background). The entrance is not only grand but majestic, with two large staircases winding up to the upper levels. The Salon Sud has enormous 25 meter ceilings and floor to ceiling windows for a spectacular view of the Grand Palais. The neutral white moldings and tones throughout the ceilings lend the setting perfectly for events of all colors palettes and tastes.

For a cocktail reception, I recommend the beautiful gardens outside before dinning inside in the Salon Sud for 350 guests or less.

Good to know

What to Know Before You Book: The beauty of the high ceilings also comes with a slight acoustics issue when playing music. Plan a little extra in the budget to offset the sound issues and your band will be magnificent!

APE Idea: I love to light up the façade and main entrance to accentuate it since it is so grand. Then we set a royal table that is long and narrow, just like one of the grand halls. We use lighting to highlight the incredible décor around the party and of course, create a focal point on the elegant ceiling in the entrance. In order to do this, we encourage ample setup time the night before, though there must be additional room in the budget for it.
