The Afterwork between colleagues after a long day at work, romantic date, or convivial moment with the family, Paris is full of terraces and rooftops that make these moments unique. For you, here is a selection of my favorites ones for a summer in Paris.

Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris

LeRoyalMonceauRafflesParis-Terraceatnightime760x374-710

Not far from the Arc de Triomphe, on the Avenue Hoche, the Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris welcomes you in its garden-terrace, a real green setting in the heart of the city. A pool opens directly onto the spa pool below.

Let yourself be carried away by the lapping of the water while sipping a cocktail at the Bar, savoring one of the Italian dishes of the restaurant Il Carpaccio (Michelin-starred restaurant) or a dish from a fusion of Asian and Latin American cuisine at the Matuhisa. The garden is located at the crossroads of the two restaurants and the bar of the Royal Monceau.

Reservations are taken for lunch and dinner, and terrace tables are assigned according to availability at the time of your arrival.

Le Perchoir

Perched on the top floor of the BHV Marais, the Perchoir never stops surprising us with its ambiences created from any room every season. After the animal skins, fir trees and deer heads that took us to Scandinavia last winter, the jungle trend is in the spotlight for this summer 2016: flowered cushions, palm trees at the four corners of the terrace… the Perchoir takes you to the tropics! All you have to do is sip a delicious cocktail, and it almost feels like it.

And because Le Perchoir is supportive, for each “Link me up Scotty” cocktail – a fresh cocktail that smells good in the summer, blending gin, lemon and mandarin, 1€ will be donated to the Link association in favor of the fight against AIDS.

For the little hungers, finger food will satisfy you. And for a convivial moment with friends, Le Perchoir has thought of everything: a menu to share composed of tarama, hummus, nachos and pizzas. Yes, this place is definitely an invitation to travel! In addition, a DJ is present to ensure the pleasure of your ears.

The terrace welcomes you in a warm and tropical atmosphere, with its breathtaking view of the capital, from Monday to Saturday from 8:15 p.m. to 2 a.m. (Wednesdays, from 9:15 p.m.).

The roof terrace of the Molitor swimming pool

Molitor

When the most emblematic pool in Paris reopens its doors, it’s for the great pleasure of all of us, young and old. Inaugurated in 1929, it will be the most popular swimming pool in Paris for 60 years, before closing and being classified as a historical monument.

After 20 years of closure, this art deco jewel has been entirely redesigned and reopened two years ago. It now houses a 5-star hotel, but what stands out is the colorful rooftop that is located there. Access to the pool is reserved for the lucky few who are hotel guests or club members but the bar restaurant overlooking the pool and its swimmers is open to the public. The Rooftop Terrace is a hanging garden of aromatic herbs and flowers, a haven of peace where it is good to (re)settle down.

Open every day from 11am to midnight.

Le Flow

After the Batofar, the Petit Bain, the barge Rosa Bonheur, the Wanderlust, the Nuba, the Faust… Le Flow confirms a trend: the quays of the Seine have become the place to be.

A floating building moored on the left bank of the Seine, upstream from the Alexandre III Bridge, Le Flow is a concert hall, a restaurant, a bar, a rooftop and an ephemeral beach in summer.

The restaurant’s kitchen, the Table du Flow, is run by Gérard Cagna, a Michelin-starred chef for 30 years. Huge bay windows and a minimalist yet resolutely refined interior are the setting in which you will enjoy the gourmet cuisine concocted by the Chefs. The establishment welcomes you every day from 12:00 to 2:30 pm (3:00 pm on weekends) and from 7:00 to 11:00 pm. Reservations at 01 44 05 39 60 or restaurant@flow-paris.com

The ephemeral beach opens its doors from noon to midnight every day. You will be able to relax there, comfortably installed on deckchairs.

As for the concert hall, the upcoming program promises to be promising and can be seen on the website of the establishment (flow-paris.com).  After its opening, on May 11, 2016, the hall welcomed the artist Philippe Katerine, and is planning shows by other big names of the music scene.

Take a bit of height, and admire the view of the most monuments of Paris from the rooftop.

In the foreground, the sumptuous Hôtel des Invalides, imposing by its size and beauty.

Le 43 Up on the roof

The 43 Up On The Roof offers a breathtaking view of the most iconic Parisian monuments. The Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Pantheon, Montmartre… You’re sure to be amazed!

Le Mama Shelter

The Mama Shelter deserves the title of the most design rooftop in Paris. Normal, since it is Philippe Starck who is at the origin of it. Wood, metal, natural shades and colorful accessories, a clever mix of contrasts, brilliantly orchestrated by the king of design.

The decor gives the terrace the look of a vacation; you wouldn’t think you were in Paris. Tanning session, reading a book in a hammock, or convivial moment with your friends, there is something for everyone at the Mama Shelter. The proof, you can even play a game of ping-pong!

To whet your appetite, the mixologist barman will concoct the cocktail of your dreams according to your tastes and desires, with fresh seasonal fruit.

food

When it’s time to sit down to dinner, the Mama Shelter will not let you down. Her initial ambition was to combine a top-of-the-range service with lower prices than those usually offered in the luxury sector. A successful gamble! Her rooftop welcomes Parisians for a dinner with summer flavors at 49 euros (single menu). For an equivalent price per person, it is possible to privatize the terrace for groups, for lunch and dinner (advance booking required).

After enjoying your meal, lie down in one of the hammocks and let yourself be lulled by the glow of the stars that dot the sky.
