This incredible four-day French Riviera destination wedding had so many breathtaking details that I’ve decided to break it down into three parts. I’m excited to share the Jewish garden ceremony with you today.

The whole wedding took place in the magical gardens of the Four Seasons Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat, a hotel that personifies elegance, sophistication and harmony, and perfectly reflects the couple themselves.

Although the bride’s family is from Argentina and the couple live in Switzerland, they often travel to the Côte d’Azur. For their wedding, they wanted to share the beauty of the iconic Grand-Hotel with their family and friends from around the world. September was the perfect time of year. It is not too hot, but still boasts balmy days and warm, breezy evenings.

Talented artist (and a dear friend) Florine Asch created the exquisite watercolor invitations, inspired by the Grand-Hotel.

I find the best weddings I plan are those where we make a real connection with the couple and their families.

That was certainly the case with this couple and the bride’s mother. They were a pleasure to work with. Seeing their close, symbiotic relationship through the planning journey was such a joy!

Working with the Four Seasons Cap-Ferrat team was also an absolute pleasure. They are always professional and supportive of all our ideas, and their event team is top notch. They will stop at nothing to ensure the magic happens!

My role is to try and understand the bride’s wishes and connect her with the perfect creative partners. One way I was able to do this was by taking a cue from her couture wedding gown. Designed by Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel, with hand embroidered flowers and elegant Italian lace, it made for a jaw-dropping entrance! The romantic Camelias on the dress and the simple sophistication of the design were key in helping me understand look and feel she desired. With this in mind, I introduced the couple to event designer Eric Chauvin. They found they had an instant bond!

The couple’s brief was ‘magical and glamorous’, and since it was a Jewish wedding, we started with the chuppah selection.

The ceremony was held at La Villa Rose-Pierre in the hotel grounds. It has a circular shape with a fountain right in the middle, so we designed an altar that would enhance the gorgeous fountain with cascading orchids and roses. The chuppah design was pure white, with thousands of tiny rose buds and orchids. The clients did not want to see greenery in their decor, just flowers, so we custom made a 5 x 5m chuppah with hundreds of blooms.

The bride loved butterflies, so we included a butterfly release in the ceremony. We also created a giant butterfly backdrop, that was 6m long and 3m high.

The head Rabbi traveled from Israel especially to perform the wedding ceremony. The ceremony entertainment – singer Yossi Azoulay and a choir of boys – also came from Israel for the wedding. They mesmerized the guests with their heartfelt performance in Hebrew.

Stay tuned for more from this magical destination wedding in the French Riviera!
