Cabo-Azul-Hotel-weddings Throughout the year I have the opportunity to travel with my wedding industry peers to speak at conferences around the globe. I just love this part of my business. I get to know other wedding professionals from different countries, explore different destinations, and share what I’ve learned with others while continuing to learn and grow as well.

One such opportunity was during my recent trip to Cabo, Mexico for the Destination Wedding Planners Congress.

The Destination Wedding Planners Congress hosts between 500 and 1000 guests from every corner of the world. Hoteliers and wedding planners, designers and so much more gather together here annually. The entire experience was themed to the Mexican destination and of course, the swag and gifting was impeccable. Mexico-welcome-party-ideas It was so great to connect with lots of new and old friends, like Ceci New York (Ceci Johnson pictured below), Matthew Oliver, Kevin Lee and Sharon Sacks. I really enjoyed Sharon’s talk on celebrity weddings. She’s closed the airspace, interfered with wifi and taken other extreme security measures to ensure the event remains intimate. Some of these events even included metal detectors so no cell phones could be missed. This is exactly the kind of detail I like to produce for our clients. Sharon’s expertise certainly impressed me. DWP-cabo Giving back through education is a part of my job that I adore. The more I can share and learn from others who share, the more all of our clients benefit and our entire industry gets lifted up. This was a fantastic panel with wedding planners from around the world that I had the pleasure of sitting with. Alejandra-Poupel wedding-planners-conference

The Destination Wedding Planners Congress isn’t all about education – it’s also about inspiration.

The evening galas and parties are just as important as the daytime program. At night we got to experience the best that Mexico has to offer for events. DWP-2019 Cabo-wedding-decor Cabo-weddings The entertainment was certainly a highlight for me! When entertainment creates drama in an event that is truly unexpected and unforgettable, that’s a victory. Cabo-wedding Music is one way to make magic in an evening and this night was no exception!Cabo-wedding-entertainment I had a wonderful time at the Destination Wedding Planners Congress and I hope to return again soon to see all of my old and new friends and share more about destination weddings in France and beyond!
